The Haughn Turf consulting program and services outlined below provides an overview of what our partnership can look like. Every golf club operates differently, from management structure to turf team experience and agronomic priorities, and we take those differences into account. This approach allows us to design a consulting program that aligns with your operation and helps you achieve your goals efficiently and effectively.
Please keep in mind that all Haughn Turf services are available separately and do not require membership. Whether its ensuring your spray program is dialed in or you want to begin monitoring your soils, our services are designed to help all Atlantic Canadian golf courses find greater success.
What Membership Provides
- Soil Sampling
Membership includes 10 complete soil nutrient samples per season. These can be taken all at once or spread through the growing season to track progress. Each report includes written recommendations and a custom spreadsheet to monitor nutrient trends and improvements. - Irrigation Water Quality Testing – New for 2026
This included test screens for salinity, alkalinity, and other water quality issues that can gradually impact soil structure and turf performance. It establishes a reliable baseline for smarter chemical, fertility, and remedial decisions, supporting both turf health and long-term soil stability. - Sprayer Calibration
Accurate calibration is one of the most effective ways to get full value from your spray program. We’ll review nozzle selection, filters, screens, application uniformity, and operator efficiency to make sure your applications are precise, consistent, and effective. - Chemical and Fertilizer Programming
Starting with a solid plan saves time, cuts costs, and reduces surprises. Together, we’ll review inventory, site history, growing conditions, and nutrient availability to design a season-long program tailored to your turf and budget. - Irrigation Management
Arguably the single most important part of turf management. I’m equipped to trace wiring, diagnose decoder or communication issues, verify distribution uniformity, test soil moisture, and assist with projects or renovations, all to ensure efficient water use and consistent turf performance. - Season-Long Consultation
Includes four site visits per season plus phone and text support. Think of this as having a trusted agronomic partner in your corner all year. - Regular Emails & Group Chat
Members receive regional agronomy updates by email and access to the Haughn Turf WhatsApp group, where superintendents share field conditions, ask quick questions, and exchange experiences from across Atlantic Canada.
Other Available Testing Services

- Soil Health Testing: The VitTellus Soil Health test combines chemical, biological, and physical analyses to produce a soil health index. It moves beyond standard fertility testing to evaluate soil function as a living system which supports microbial activity, nutrient cycling, and sustainable turf management.
