It looks like Spring is on the way with the arrival of April in Atlantic Canada. I have been visiting with several members clubs over the past few days and it has been fantastic to get back out on the golf course and experience all the feelings that go along with our profession. The way I feel when I’m surrounded by turf and nature, working together, to create beautiful spaces, can never be topped or replaced!
As the season gets going, keep in mind that my company is not solely consulting, my services are designed for daily hire as well and I’m always excited to experience new properties and all of the learning they bring. - Soil Nutrient Testing: Using the Melich 3 testing procedure and a 3rd party independent laboratory, you can get a unique look at your turf’s nutrient availability and requirements. Included with testing is a written report and spreadsheet that can help guide your fertility decisions while providing documented support when explaining to management or ownership.
- Soil Health Testing: VitTellus Soil Health testing can establish a baseline and track the impact of biostimulants and cultural practices, including soil health index, biological activity, reactive carbon and potential N mineralization.
- Decoder Diagnostics: On-site troubleshooting of decoder irrigation systems, including tracing and repairing issues, mapping wire paths and training staff for easier in-house operation and repairs.
- Program Design: Chemical, fertility or agronomic program development with purchasing support if required to ensure you are implementing high quality programs at a cost that fits your individual situation.
- Consulting Services: I still have a few spots available for season long consulting and partnership if interested. Last season I was extremely lucky to have almost 30 courses join Haughn Turf and together we have watched operations grow. Included is all my services to help you accomplish your goals, guarantee 4 site visits through the season, get access to regular emails discussing turf issues in our region, and a WhatsApp group of supportive and likeminded superintendents.
- Sprayer Calibration and Training: A large portion of your budget flows through this machine, and making sure you are applying your plant health products as efficiently and effectively as possible can save you time, money and frustration later in the year.
